About The School

The Beginning

Play House School was established in 1998, by Capt L.D Dhondiyal in partnership with Late Mr. and Mrs. Husain, to provide a safe, secure environment for children of Lucknow. They were helped by a think tank of prominent educationists and citizens consisting of Late Mr. B.D Sanwal (ICS), Late Mrs. F Keelor (the former Principal of La Martiniere Girls! College and Wing Cmdr. Narain (Retd.), who felt that there was a need to establish a world- class playschool in Lucknow. They believed that every child has the ability to become an extraordinary human, provided they are moulded with love and care. The Former Principal and now Academic Director of Play House, Mrs. P. Rodricks, has been with us since the very inception. She was the in charge of the Junior Section of St. Francis' College before her retirement from there. They also believed in teaching through Play-way method, instead of rote learning. Thus Play House was born. In 18 years, the Play House family has been consistently loyal to the ideals and the aims of its founders and the school has become one of the most reputed and innovative play schools in Lucknow

It was also awarded as the second best Play School in India in 2016. Play House School is situated in the heart of the city, a free from noise and pollution on a lush green acre of open land. We have a fruit and vegetable garden and each child is allowed to plant a seedling and take care of it. Later the child takes home the flowerpot in full bloom. The school also has a large enclosure housing dozens of rabbits and birdies, as well as a shallow splash pool, tricycles, pony rides, swings and slides in our large playground to make play time enjoyable for children. All festivals are celebrated and children are taught the importance of respect and tolerance for everyone.

The entire premises of the school including the classrooms and the playground are monitored during school hours by CCTV cameras and all activities are supervised by trained and experienced staff. Apart from being surrounded by high walls fortified with barbwire. We offer only two entry points that are guarded by two security personnel. We offer emergency power backup via silent generators too. The children of Play House are confident, smart, well-mannered and creative. Mock Interviews are held to prepare the children and their parents for what they will face in the interview at regular schools. In 2020, 100% of our students got admission in the prestigious schools of Lucknow.
